With the interpretive framework from Part 12 in place, we now enter the Results Encyclopedia. This article covers what the Sun, Moon, and Mars deliver when they rule your year.
Part 13 of 21 • Results Encyclopedia • Covers: Chapter 10 — Results of Varsheswara (Articles 87–90)
Once you've identified your Year Lord (from Part 6) and computed its Panchavargeeyabala strength (from Part 5), use this chapter to read the predicted results.
How to use these results:
- Determine the Year Lord's strength classification: Strong (PV/4 > 10), Moderate (5–10), or Weak (< 5)
- Read the baseline results for that strength level
- Check which planets aspect or conjoin the Year Lord in the annual chart
- Apply the aspect modifications listed under each planet to refine the prediction
The Sun as Year Lord
If Strong (PV/4 > 10):
Professional advancement and promotion, robust health, improvement in finances, growing fame and recognition, prosperity for children, domestic harmony, and the ability to overcome opponents and rivals.
If Moderate (PV/4 = 5–10):
Disagreements with respected persons and relatives, minor health issues, changes of place or residence, and some apprehension from authority figures — unless the Sun forms Ithasala with a benefic planet, which can mitigate these difficulties.
If Weak (PV/4 < 5):
Travel to distant places without productive gains, residence away from home, fear from political or governmental authority, unanticipated expenditures, damage to reputation, illness, and discord within the family.
Aspect Modifications on the Sun
Papakarthari Yoga (hemmed by malefics): Persistent anxiety from authority, inflammatory fever, losses in mineral-related business.
Moon's aspect: Possible travel to the northwest direction.
Mars's aspect: Overcoming rivals and adversaries; success in competitive situations.
The Moon as Year Lord
If Strong:
Honors and recognition, growth in family membership, inner peace and mental clarity, acquisition of property and wealth, success in agriculture, access to gems and valuables, a rise in social standing befitting one's position, and alliances with political leaders and spiritual authorities.
If Moderate:
Gain and subsequent loss of property, friction with friends and children, changes of residence (especially if in service), weakened health, and a general mixture of favorable and unfavorable results throughout the year.
If Weak:
Considerable hardship, persistent mental anxiety, displacement from current position, upheaval in domestic affairs, respiratory troubles, property theft, purposeless travel, and an overall difficult and distressing period.
Aspect Modifications on the Moon
The Moon as Year Lord is particularly sensitive to planetary aspects. Each planet modifying the Moon produces distinct effects:
Sun's aspect: Connections with political figures, possible fever, some governmental displeasure.
Mars's aspect: Bodily heat, phlegmatic fever, risk of injury or surgical intervention (especially if Mars lords the 6th house).
Mercury's aspect: Acquisition of a vehicle, general well-being; but if the aspect is adverse, involvement in problematic correspondence or documentation.
Jupiter's aspect: Marriage (if unmarried), career advancement, improvement in business and personal reputation.
Venus's aspect: Marriage prospects, construction of a house, and overall improvement in life circumstances.
Saturn's aspect: Mental agitation, loss of a relative, governmental displeasure, unnecessary spending, and health issues related to blood deficiency.
Rahu's aspect: Difficulties from rivals, family quarrels, unusual illnesses, fears, and blood-related disorders.
Ketu's aspect: Nervous conditions, unusual fevers, risk of poisoning, and sudden journeys in the southeast direction.
Mars as Year Lord
If Strong:
Success in all endeavors, growing fame and reputation, increase in family or extended relations, growth of wealth, defeat and destruction of enemies, military honors (for those in armed services), and general happiness throughout the year.
If Moderate:
Conflicts with family members arising from misunderstandings, displeasure from superiors, pride and assertiveness that may cause friction, some leadership opportunities, blood-related ailments, minor injuries, and a modest increase in status.
If Weak:
Financial losses, numerous difficulties, having to reside in distant or foreign places, fevers, risk from fires, trouble from thieves and adversaries, public disgrace, other injuries and scandals, aimless travel, and disappointment in romantic relationships.
Aspect Modifications on Mars
Jupiter's aspect: Significantly softens Mars's harsh tendencies. Results should be greatly modified in a positive direction.
Sun's association: Recognition for courageous acts, government-sourced income, success in legal disputes, travel eastward.
Moon's association: Acquisition of gems, but also fear from governmental authority and fire, loss of livestock, and hemorrhoidal complaints.
Mercury's aspect: Generally unfavorable results when Mercury modifies Mars.
