Part 17 of 21 • Results Encyclopedia • Covers: Chapter 11 — Results of Bhavas (Articles 119–130)

Ninth Bhava — Fortune, Father, Dharma

Luck, higher learning, long journeys, spiritual pursuits, father's welfare, and merit

Key Special Combinations

When the 9th lord forms Ithasala with benefics or the Year Lord, the year brings good fortune, father's prosperity, spiritual growth, and favorable long-distance travel. The Punya Saham and Pitru Saham should be checked for further detail on spiritual merit and the father's condition respectively.

If the 9th lord is in Easarpha with malefics or occupies dusthana positions (6, 8, 12), fortune declines, the father faces difficulties, and spiritual pursuits are obstructed. Pilgrimages or religious activities planned for the year may not yield the expected benefits.

Planets in the Ninth House

Sun: Father's welfare improves, governmental favor, success in religious or academic pursuits, and enhanced reputation.

Moon: Fortunate long journeys, spiritual experiences, gains through higher education, and emotional fulfillment through dharmic activities.

Mars: Courage in spiritual pursuits, possible conflicts with teachers or authority figures, but eventual success through bold initiative.

Mercury: Academic honors, success in examinations, profitable publishing, and eloquent religious or philosophical discourse.

Jupiter: The most favorable placement — deep spiritual growth, academic distinction, father thrives, fortune expands in all directions.

Venus: Luxurious long journeys, gains through foreign connections, artistic and cultural achievements, and romantic encounters during travel.

Saturn: Delayed pilgrimages, father's health concerns, spiritual lessons through hardship, and fortune that comes slowly.

Rahu: Foreign travel with mixed results, unconventional spiritual pursuits, and unexpected changes in fortune.

Ketu: Deep mystical experiences, detachment from worldly fortune, possible loss of father figure, and spiritual liberation.

Tenth Bhava — Career, Status, Authority

Profession, reputation, public standing, government relations, and achievements

Key Special Combinations

When the powerful Year Lord occupies the ascendant or 10th house, the year brings access to political influence, financial prosperity, and growing reputation. If the Sun as Year Lord is in the 10th, friendship with high political figures is established. The Sun joining Muntha or the Muntha lord in the 10th brings political success.

Ministerial position: When the lords of the Year, the ascendant, and the 10th all form Ithasala with each other, a position of high authority (ministerial rank or equivalent) can be secured. If the Year Lord occupies the Rajya Saham and forms Ithasala with the Sun, the native may become a governor or chief executive.

Income Sources by Planet

One of the most practically useful sections in the original text. The planet connected to the 10th house indicates the source of income during that year:

Sun: Paternal properties, medical practice, government service

Moon: Maternal earnings, pearls, work with women, agriculture

Mars: Inheritance from cousins, military service, engineering, property dealing

Mercury: Friends' wealth, journalism, publications, lecturing, speculation

Jupiter: Brother's earnings, business ventures, missionary or religious work

Venus: Wife's wealth or female connections, cosmetics, dance, music, entertainment

Saturn: Servants' properties, mills, factories, manufacturing, industrial trade

Rahu: Income through irregular or questionable means

Ketu: Earnings through covert activities or unconventional methods

Important: In predicting career events, due attention must be paid to details of the birth horoscope and the actual circumstances of the native. A prediction of "ministerial position" for a student obviously needs to be scaled to their life stage — it might manifest as a leadership role in their academic institution, for example.

Planets in the Tenth House

Sun: Influx of wealth, acquisition of territory or land, securing honors, though possible difficulties with livestock.

Moon: Financial benefits, victory over competitors, expansion of trade, happiness, growing reputation, and all-round professional success.

Mars: A new professional assignment, income through machinery or technology, acquisition of land, improved status, but loss of livestock.

Mercury: The comfort of a new vehicle, good earnings for children, success for employer, and advancement through intellectual work.

Jupiter: Purchase of precious items, governmental favor, land acquisition, and defeat of professional rivals.

Venus: Distinguished professional success, elevated status, financial gains, and acquisition of a garden or vehicle.

Saturn: Loss of land, crop destruction, illness among close relatives, but possible gains through agency work or real estate.

Rahu: Business expansion, rising status, auspicious developments, financial gains, and pleasant professional journeys.

Ketu: Modest reputation, niche trade success, but mental uneasiness about professional standing.

Eleventh Bhava — Gains, Friends, Ambitions

All kinds of gains, friendships, elder siblings, income, desires, and social connections

Key Special Combinations

When Mercury as Year Lord occupies the 11th unafflicted, the native earns substantial profit from business. If Muntha also joins Mercury in the 11th, the native gains significant income as a writer or speaker. These are among the strongest wealth-producing combinations in Tajaka.

When the lords of the ascendant and 11th form Ithasala, the year will be excellent financially and the native's prestige increases among relatives. If the strong Karaka of the 11th house (Mercury) conjoins Muntha in the ascendant while benefics conjoin the Artha Saham, the native gains a new vehicle, a responsible position, and sudden wealth.

Planets in the Eleventh House

Sun: Income from governmental sources, a life of ease and pleasure, defeat of opponents, but possible illness affecting children.

Moon: Destruction of foes, influx of business wealth, connections with influential people, enhanced status, return of children from abroad, and general contentment.

Mars: Securing a good position and financial benefits, success for one's own party, purchase of precious metals, but some difficulties for children.

Mercury: New trade and business contacts, good income, purchasing new livestock, though some unexpected losses and tensions with spouse.

Jupiter: Costly and rare acquisitions, dawn of prosperity for children, routing of enemies, rise in status, and cordial relations with political figures.

Venus: Unexpected possession of gold and precious stones, general success in all matters, progress of children, defeat of opponents, and growing social circle.

Saturn: Purchase of land and cattle, monetary gains, spreading fame, but misfortune to children and involvement with the general public.

Rahu: Status equal to that of a minister, rare acquisitions, defeat of opponents, but misunderstandings with children.

Ketu: Construction of a beautiful house, enjoyment of pleasures, display of prowess, and general improvement across the board.

Twelfth Bhava — Losses, Expenses, Foreign Travel

Expenditure, loss, sickness, foreign residence, confinement, and spiritual liberation

Key Special Combinations

When the weak Lagna lord or Year Lord occupies the 12th, losses occur in articles appropriate to the sign involved. If it's a quadruped sign (Aries, Taurus, etc.), loss of cattle or livestock. If a biped sign (Gemini, Virgo, etc.), loss of friends, relatives, and servants.

The Sun as Lagna lord or Year Lord in the 12th can lead to job dismissal. The Moon produces similar effects, though if strong, the native may undertake constructive projects on their property. Saturn in the 12th as Year Lord brings disappointment and losses in all matters. If the Year Lord is in the 12th and the 10th lord is weak, the entire year is one of woe and suffering.

Planets in the Twelfth House

Sun: Swelling of feet, quarrels with spouse or women, financial losses, head and stomach troubles, mental affliction, and difficulties for opponents.

Moon: Speaking falsehoods, expenditure on worthy causes, eye disease, public disputes, unexpected difficulties, phlegmatic complaints, and spleen problems.

Mars: Ear and eye troubles, loss of money through theft, scandals, disputes with influential people, and illness for the spouse.

Mercury: Serious disputes with enemies, ear trouble, mental worry, phlegmatic troubles, and eye complaints including cataracts.

Jupiter: All kinds of troubles, fear of losing reputation, and sorrow connected to matters signified by Jupiter (children, education, religion).

Venus: Spending on worthy causes, gastric and rheumatic pains, eye complaints, protracted litigation, disappointment in love, separation from spouse, fever, and fear of death.

Saturn: Major business troubles, financial losses through litigation, migraine and colitis — one of the most difficult placements.

Rahu: Change of residence or employment, disregard for social conventions, loss of trusted employees, head and stomach complaints, financial losses, and family friction.

Ketu: Huge expenses, involvement with unconventional spiritual practices, heterodox inclinations, and engagement with forbidden or taboo matters.
