15 General Principles for Dasa Interpretation
1. Results should NOT be applied verbatim — vary by strength of Dasa/Bhukti/Antara lords.
2. Weigh general results carefully; discard incongruous ones.
3. Planet in exaltation = best Dasa results; in debilitation = worst.
4. Planet in own sign/Moolatrikona/friend's sign = good Dasa results.
5. Planet produces results per its ownership, association, location, and aspect.
6. Results modified by Gochara (transits).
7. Powerful Lagna lord's Dasa → rise in profession, good health, prosperity.
8. Lord of 2nd in his Dasa → wealth.
9. Lord of 3rd in his Dasa → new friends, help to brothers, leadership.
10. Well-placed lord = good for its houses; weak lord = misery.
11. Periods of 5th and 9th lords are always good; related planets also give good.
12. Dasa effects modified by Bhukti lord — compound both planets' influences.
13. During malefic Dasa, sub-period of planet ruling 3rd/5th/7th star from natal star = trial.
14. Unfavourable when sub-lord and major lord are in 6th/8th or 12th/2nd from each other.
15. Sub-period of 5th lord in 9th lord's Dasa (or vice versa) = good effects.
